History -The Yamazaki distillery is located near the town of Shimamoto, in a place called Yamazaki valley, which served as the inspiration for the distillery's name. Known for producing a sweet, fruity, and spicy style. Yamazaki was originally founded by Shinjiro Torii in 1924 becoming the first commercial distillery in Japan. The location of this distillery was due to the great diversity of water sources and high relative humidity, an environment conducive to whisky making and maturation.
