The Original Hendricks Gin
One on an old-fashioned pot still, yielding a rich and intricate spirit. The other on a long-necked Carter Head, producing a delicate, more refined spirit. Each still is infused with an unusual symphony of 11 botanicals: chamomile, elderflower, juniper, lemon peel, orange peel, caraway, coriander, cubeb berries, angelica root, yarrow root and orris root. The gins from the two stills are then married together and graced with curious yet marvelous infusions of Rose and Cucumber. This odd method of making gin enables HENDRICKāS to taste light, yet intriguingly complex. The result is a wondrously refreshing gin with a delightfully floral aroma, elevating any gin cocktail and all occasions.
Gin and Water
History -As early as the 17th century the Spanish used quinine from the bark of Cinchona trees to treat malaria after being shown the remedy from the Indigenous peoples of Peru, Bolivia, and Ecuador. -In early 19th century India and other tropical posts of the British Empire, medicinal quinine was recommended to British officials and soldiers to prevent malaria, there it was mixed with soda and sugar to mask its bitter taste, creating tonic water. -The first commercial tonic water was produced in 1858 when it was patented by the owner of Pitt & Co., Erasmus Bond. -The mixed drink gin and tonic also originated in British colonial India, when the British mixed their medicinal quinine tonic with gin and other ingredients to make the bitter medicine more palatable. -Soldiers in India were already given a gin ration, so the sweet concoction was easy to make.[6] In 1868 the first known record of a Gin & Tonic was in the āOriental Sporting Magazineā and was described as a refreshing cocktail for spectators of horse racing, not as a medicine Awards - Two double gold, Two gold, and Three silver medals between 2005 and 2012
